For more than 80 years, the Wyoming Firefighters Association has held its annual Turkey Raffle to raise funds for our fire department. This year, the event takes place on Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Wyoming Civic Center.
According to Sophia Abrams, president of the Wyoming Firefighters Association, this fun, family-friendly event is underrated. “It’s the best-kept secret, but my goal is for every citizen to know about the Raffle and attend at least once. I’ve never met a person who didn’t come and have an amazing time. Who doesn’t love winning prizes?”
The concept is simple: Exchange your tickets for a number on the wheel. If your number is called, you take home a turkey! Attendees also have a chance to win door prizes donated by local businesses. Beverages will be available to purchase at the event.
This year, the Firefighters Association is raising additional funds to purchase new equipment, ensuring the continued safety and welfare of Wyoming families. “The fire department appreciates everyone’s support each year, and we love to watch the event grow,” Abrams says. “The citizens are who make this city so special, and we hope to see some new faces this year!”
Residents are encouraged to purchase tickets for the Turkey Raffle with the mailer, which has been delivered to all Wyoming mailboxes. If you missed the mailer, you can stop by the fire or police departments before the event.
