What’s Up Wyoming wants to thank everyone who participated in the Halloween Photo Contest for submitting your spooktacular Halloween photos, everything from cool costumes to amazing yard displays. We’re excited to finally announce our two winners!
Most Creative Costume – Jake Freund
Congratulations to Jake Freund, a fifth-grader at the middle school, who absolutely nailed it with his Guy Fieri costume, right down to the spiked blonde hair. Jake’s mom, Becky Freund, submitted the photo to WUW. “We are Food Network fans. Having Jake dress up as Guy Fieri seemed like a natural fit. We grew his hair out for a couple of months before Halloween so we could get the ‘do’ just right.”
Most Creative Display – The Gelein/Schmall Family, Reily Road
Congratulations to Kelly Gelein, her husband Jason Schmall, and their kids Natalie, Crosby, and Cassidy Schmall. Kelly loves to go all out with her Halloween front yard display, which includes tombstones, skeletons, giant spiders, a coffin, and even a headless horseman.
“It makes me happy to see the smiles and excitement on my kids’ faces, or other kids’ faces, when the house is transformed and decorated,” Kelly says. “We have terrific neighbors who also like to decorate for Halloween, and it’s been a great way to meet other families on our street or in the community who’ve stopped by to talk about the house. I hope that our enthusiasm spreads to others in the neighborhood!”
