The Wyoming Athletics Boosters will host an outdoor event Saturday, August 7, to benefit Middle and High School athletics and beat the COVID blahs. The Covid Busting Booster Bash will be held on the 3rd fairway of the Wyoming Golf Club and feature food, drink, music, and keynote speaker Elizabeth Blackburn, Director of Strategy and Engagement for the Cincinnati Bengals.
“We want to have an event that celebrates the new athletic season, that allows for full community participation,” says event organizer Christopher Pagan.
Tickets to the Bash are $125 each, and get you dinner from three different food trucks, an open bar, music by local band Stonefish, as well as the keynote address. The event runs from 7 – 11pm. Due to limited parking at the golf club, organizers encourage ride sharing or walking if possible.
Wyoming Athletics Boosters provide between forty and fifty thousand dollars to the athletic department each year, says Pagan. The Covid Busting Booster Bash symbolizes a return to a regular sports season, playing off the Ghostbusters. Says Pagan, “Like the song says, ‘busting makes me feel good.’”
