Brown grocery bags with canned goods and non-perishable food items overflowed Wyoming’s gazebo Saturday, April 17, as Wyoming residents donated an estimated 8,000 pounds of food at the first-ever Wyoming Community Food Drive.  The event was hosted by Move for Hunger (a national nonprofit organization) and Station Family + BBQ.

New resident Adam Bianco organized the drive with the help of local volunteers on behalf of Move for Hunger. Donations were given to Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center for local distribution.

The food drive was a huge success, and Bianco was thrilled with the response, saying “Wyoming, you’re incredible! You all donated enough food for about 6,600 meals. It was an amazing day. The gazebo was literally overflowing with food. They had to bring a second moving truck to get it all. My wife and I are so thankful to be part of this community.”
