Wyoming came out in numbers Sunday to honor the life of one of our own who gave the ultimate sacrifice in her service as a police officer in the city of Springdale.
As the funeral procession for 2005 Wyoming High School graduate and Springdale Police Officer Kaia Grant passed along Springfield Pike and Pendery Avenue in front of Wyoming High School, residents lined the route, waving flags or simply standing in silence to show support for her family and to honor her service and that of all police, fire and rescue personnel who routinely risk their safety to ensure ours.
Officer Grant, 33, was killed March 21 as she assisted in an attempt to apprehend a suspect.
The procession continued to a private funeral service at the Vineyard Church in Springdale.
