City leaders unfolded plans for the new Village Green Pavilion on January 29, 2020, in a special presentation at the Wyoming Civic Center hosted by the Wyoming Recreation Foundation. The event showcased the re-design of the Village Green and the fundraising project for the new performance pavilion. Plans for the re-location of the historic gazebo to the Civic Center and the implementation of the proposed Designated Outdoor Recreation Area (DORA) were also discussed. The crowd attending enjoyed a cash bar and light appetizers while they listened to the speakers.
City Manager Lynn Tetley presented information on the DORA and its potential economic impact, providing new options for entertainment in the community. Monica Tuck, Fundraising Chair for the Wyoming Recreation Foundation, discussed the Village Green Pavilion/Capital Campaign. Matt Hughes, Development Council with the Wyoming Recreation Foundation, spoke about opportunities to contribute to the campaign. The campaign will privately fund the design and construction of the new performance pavilion.
Ryan Geismar, a Wyoming resident, presented his winning design for the new performance pavilion. Geismar is a Senior Landscape Architect with the firm Human Nature, which has worked on projects such as Washington Park and Ziegler Park in Cincinnati.
The City will host community engagement sessions for residents to learn more about the pavilion design and to provide an opportunity for input and comments.
