The Wyoming Rec center offers all-day summer camp from June 3 to August 12. Kids can come to camp five days a week or just a few days a week. The schedule each day includes crafts, nature and other fun activities at the Rec Center in the morning and swimming at the Family Aquatic Center in the afternoon. Thursday is field trip day, and this year kids will enjoy trips to Kings Island, Parky’s Farm, The Beach Waterpark, and the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden to name a few!
In addition to Summer Camp, the Rec Center also offers weekly camps. A returning favorite, Junior Police Camp, will be offered July 15-19 at the Safety Services Building. This camp is designed for kids in grades two to six, and introduces them to the duties of Wyoming Police officers, including a tour of the firing range and the K-9 unit.
Wyoming Fine Arts Center also offers a full line-up of camp activities. The center offers camps in art, dance, music and theater – over 39 in all! Have your kids turn a video game obsession into art at Video Game Art Camp. This camp runs June 10-14, from 10-noon for kids ages 8-12. Are your kids always making up words to songs? They might like the Songwriting Workshop, for Ages 8+, which runs 9 a.m. to noon June 24-28. Musical Theater sessions for ages 8+ (and Mini Musicals for ages 5-8) are offered throughout the summer and include a final production on the last Friday of camp. New this summer, Wendy Magee Photography will be offering a Digital Photography 101 Summer Camp for Middle Schoolers. Due to popular demand, she will be running two sessions – July 8-12 and July 22-26 – both from 1-3 p.m. Camp will take place at Wendy’s studio, 515 Wyoming Ave #2, in the Village Business District.
