With the coming of summer, it can be tough to find enough activities to keep everyone busy and happy. What do you do with everyone on a hot Friday evening, when no one wants to cook dinner? Here’s what you do:
Spread out your picnic blanket and set up your chairs. Pour a cold drink and kick back. Eat a delicious pizza dinner from the Fireside Pizza mobile oven. Take in some tunes from a live band while the kids play, then settle down for an outdoor movie as the sun goes down. That’s how Wyoming does a summer evening at Pics On The Pike!
“This event was created as a family event for all ages to enjoy,” says Recreation Supervisor Laurie Rusnak. “We have live music, crafts and entertainment for kids, food and the movie at dusk.”
The next Pics On The Pike takes place Friday, June 23 on the south lawn of the Wyoming Civic Center at the corner of Springfield Pike and Worthington Avenue. Enjoy music from Spring and the Falls, as well as Cloud 8.
The movie will be “Sing”, the 2016 animated comedy about a singing competition between a variety of animals, starring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Seth McFarlane, Scarlett Johansson, John C. Reilly and more.
The festivities get under way at 6:30 p.m., rain or shine.
